TCM: Kindred Spirits

Monday, June 17, 2013

Welcome back to the second day of The Craft's Meow's June Release Week!  Today were showing off another beautiful, flower set known as Kindred Spirits, and I just love that Karen has tied so many design options into this stunner.  Here's how I was inspired.
I started this card by stamping the flower and leaf images, in Basic Gray, Jet Black, Garden Green, Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, and Melon Mambo inks, around the edges of a piece of White cardstock, before framing it with a piece of slightly larger, White cardstock and machine stitching, with black-threaded, straight stitches, around its edges.
I then stamped the "Cherished Friend, More than you can imagine or even comprehend.  I thank God for you, my very special friend!" sentiment, in Jet Black ink, in the top center of the design, before adhering the prepped piece to the Kraft, cardstock, card face.  Don't you just love that sentiment?!  Swoon!
The bottom right corner was then dressed with a couple of layered, die-cut butterflies.  The bottom butterfly was die-cut from Lake House cardstock, dry embossed with polka dots, and backed with both a piece of cheesecloth and a couple of ink-distressed, Lucky Limeade, cardstock, leafy die cuts.  The top butterfly was cut from vellum and dressed up with a crystal button, laced with a white, chord bow.  A handful of clear gemstones add a little more sparkle and complete the look.
Be sure to leave some love, on the TCM Store Blog, by 8 pm PST tonight, for your chance to win today's stamp set.  Thanks, as always, for stopping by!  Until tomorrow, be blessed!
