TCM: For a Special Couple

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

Hey, y'all!  Just popping in to share a card I created, for The Craft's Meow Store Blog, using a couple of new goodies from our latest release.  Check it out!
I  started this card by adhering a piece of ivory, text, patterned paper to the Kraft, cardstock, card face.  I then stamped the partial "Side by Side... Year by Year.  Wishing you a wonderful journey as you build your new life together." sentiment, in Jet Black ink, on a strip of vellum and secured it, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches, running around the edges of the card face.
A length of black, gingham ribbon was then wrapped, vertically, around the center of the card face; tied, in a bow, near its top edge; and embellished with a turquoise button, laced with a hemp twine bow.
I then created the sunset panel by Cameo-cutting it from White cardstock, masking off around the sun, and inking it up with Wild Honey Distress Ink.  The sun itself was then covered up, and the rest of the panel was inked, from top to bottom, with Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans, and Dusty Concord Distress Inks; before it was stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the floral silhouette and primary, "For a Special Couple" sentiment.  It was then framed with a piece of die-cut, using my Cameo, Pumpkin Pie cardstock and adhered, in its respective position, tucked under the vellum, sentiment strip and just below the embellished bow, with foam tape.  A bunch of tiny gemstones, to dress up the base of the flowers, completes the look.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be blessed!

You know I'm a huge fan of how you construct your cards and this is no exception, but I have to say the inking on this one really makes the card. Fantastic! Hugs!

I needed another look at your gorgeous card that I saw on TCM Blog. Wonderful inking--one of my favorite techniques--& I love using vellum for sentiments. Attaching it with the stitching is perfect!
