Paper Sweeties Sketch Inspiration #9

Sunday, June 30, 2013

A brand new month means a brand new Paper Sweeties sketch to get your creative juices flowing, folks.  I've, once again, taken a few liberties with this one and added lots of details to turn it into a layout, just because I felt like playing ;).  Enjoy!
I started this layout by trimming the sides of a strip of ivory, text, patterned paper with strips of pink, floral, patterned paper; ink distressing their combined edges; and machine stitching, with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches, between the paper connections.  I then cut the partial "Sweet" title, from Whisper White cardstock, with my Cameo and applied it overlapping the completed, "girl" title, which was created from pink, cardstock stickers.
I then adhered my 2-1/2" square photographs in their respective locations, framing a couple with Whisper White cardstock and one with a red Polaroid, stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "Some Bunny Loves You" phrase.
The stacked photographs farthest to the right were then dressed up with a simple, white, paper doily; yellow, polka dot envelope; pink, "NO." label, which I filled in with Easter Sunday @ G-pa & G-ma's; and a couple of cutesy, little, Easter images.  The latter were stamped, in Jet Black ink, on White cardstock; colored in with pencils and mineral spirits; hand cut out; and given a touch of glitter, just for a little shine.
Finally, I stamped all those little pennants and hearts and blossoms, in Jet Black ink, on color-coordinating, patterned papers; hand cut them out; and adhered them, as you see here, in arched banners.
The blossoms were embellished with buttons, laced with white string; and a trio of yellow, gem-studded, cardstock blossoms add another layer of goodness.  Each end was then grounded with little, Baker's Twine bows to complete the look.
Further inspiration for this layout came from Scrap Your Story's Challenge 18: Shake It Like a Polaroid Picture and Life. Paper. Scrapbook.'s June Colour Challenge.
And here's this month's Sketch Inspiration Challenge #9 to get you off and running in the right direction.
You have until the close of the month, on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, to link up your takes, over at the challenge link above, in order to be in the running to win a $20 gift certificate to the Paper Sweeties Shoppe.  Can't wait to see what you come up with!  Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a terrific start to your work weeks, y'all!
